So this is my new blog… welcome. I hope you don’t mind the lack of furniture but I just moved in you see. I’ve been blogging for almost 2 years now and this is my 3rd “site”. My first blog was mostly hit and miss comedic ramblings and my 2nd was more personal and mostly filled with gig reviews, observations and mini semi-autobiographical fiction bites. This will (fingers crossed) be my final move.
Personal blogs inevitably are a drag. Unless you’re some celebrity superstar or in some world touring band, no one really cares what you did last Saturday. The best blogs always have some focus so I’ve found the only unifying theme in my disparate threads of life.
I am a nerd.
I love gadgets, I play video games, I listen to obscure bands on obscure fancy earphones. I have pipetted while listening to “The Pipettes”. I wear glasses and can discuss at length and with enthusiasm about the challenges faced in biomarker proteomics. When you think something might be weird I might think that it’s interesting.
But I’m know I’m not alone. I know that nerds are among us, appreciating good music, film, travel and science. There’s no reason to hide. Nerds Rock.

Nerds unite and more Ian moment’s I say. On the hour every hour for an hour. But do you have to were glasses and are geeks included? Because geeks like gadgetry and computers while nerds like knowledge so are we neeks then or gerds.. Either way I embrace my inner nerd and outer one too but not in public
